I have always seen a sky like this as something of a dream come true, but in this photograph it is more like a major distraction. In my opinion the HMS Belfast is a beautiful warship and I really like the paint job which is officially known as the Admiralty Disruptive Camouflage. Unfortunately when this image was captured last spring there was no time to go onboard. She is now an Imperial War Museum site and has been since 1978. I do however wonder what work was going on at the time and have to ask myself why I didn’t remove the buoy in the water in post processing. Oh well, I guess this makes it more real.
