Historic Coal Mining

Disused coal mines are usually blots on the landscape and certainly not something I would stop the car to photograph. Here at the historic Brunner Mine they keep visible remains of the industry alive for tourists like myself. Situated on the banks of the Grey River, just off Highway 7 in the middle of the South Island of New Zealand it would have been a shame to drive on past without a quick stop to explore the heritage of this small piece of Kiwi history.
