Highland Calf in the Lake District

We stopped at the top of the Kirkstone pass because I had noticed a herd of highland cattle peeping over the dry stone wall. It wasn’t till I was stood behind the wall that I noticed this calf stood a little away from its mother. Earlier this year I had a great time photographing the Highland Cattle on their native turf up in Scotland so it was unexpected to see them down in the lakes, but even more unexpected to have the opportunity to photograph a young calf like this. Something I never saw on my recent tour of the highlands.
