Setting out early for a long walk in the Lake District National Park, I wanted to stop at the south west end of Wastwater for a landscape photograph looking up the lake. However it was damp and overcast with low cloud cover on the mountain tops. Driving along the road heading north I stopped the car at this sign. I haven’t ever been up this road to Greendale as I have always been heading in the direction of Wasdale Head, but I liked the sign in contrast with the dark background.
