Many people have been asking me of late, “Where did you get the great puffin photos from?” or, “How did you get so close to a puffin?”. Well this is a photo of the Glad Tidings boat that took us over to the Farne Islands and in the foreground you can see not puffins but guillemots. They nest on the rocks, so you see more of them. In contrast puffins live underground so there are seemingly not as many, but according to research there are more pairs of puffins than guillemots on the islands!
