Whenever I travel to a location with the intention of photography I always have one image or location in mind. The Forth Bridge at twilight was the reason for this trip to Scotland as painting had recently been completed and finally after many many years of being covered in scaffolding it was free from this visual obstruction. I had gone in the afternoon to scout out the location and ending up hanging around till dusk / sunset, but with the mist I didn’t end up capturing the photograph I was looking for. So I went back very early one morning (when it was still dark) and set the tripod and waited for the train to come across the bridge. It took a couple of attempts to get the shutter speed right, but in my opinion it was worth it as this is my favourite / best photograph of the year so far.
