This was taken on a long straight on one of the final stages of this year’s Malcolm Wilson Rally in the Lake District. This very fast Ford Fiesta ST was being driven by Mark Donnelly with Paddy Robinson as his co-driver. They finished in 30th overall position but 4th in the Fiesta ST class. As you can see from the mud and the windscreen wipers, it was raining heavily at the time this image was captured – thank god my D300 camera has “weather sealing” as I really tested it that afternoon!
