The Fleur-de-lis is a stylised lily flower used as a decorative symbol. The above example carved in stone was found at the bottom of the Spanish Steps in Rome, Italy. It caught my eye due to the way that the sunlight was falling on to it and the lovely bright orange of the wall behind.
