Thursday was my first proper night shoot of my last year at university and I was out looking at creating light trails using a long exposure on the camera. The above image is one of the two or three that will be used as posters for one of the projects I am working on. In the end the static captures where the camera was fixed to the tripod produced disappointing results and it wasn’t until I started shooting hand held that things became more interesting. With the above photo taken on the corner of John Dalton Street and Deansgate, I held the camera as steady as possible over the ten second long exposure time, but at the last minute moved the camera down to point at my feet. Another “Happy Accident”!
