Dean Village Edinburgh

Known as the “Water of Leith Village” this area immediately north west of Edinburgh was a successful grain milling hamlet for more than 800 years. Today Dean Village is a desirable residential area thanks to extensive redevelopment and restoration that began in the 1970’s. The above photograph was taken through glass from the Edinburgh Residence hotel very early on my last morning in the Scottish capital.
