When I had made it to the top of the Abbey Steps I decided to explore St. Mary’s Church. Unfortunately for my photography there was a wedding going on at the time, so it was a case of wandering around the grounds, looking at the gravestones and seeing if there were any decent views down into the town. At the north corner of the churchyard there was a bench where I sat down for a drink of water. Looking to my right I saw this sign and thought it was worth a capture. You can see at the other side of the harbour is Whitby beach and if you look very closely you can just make out a line of beach huts.
