Large lakes can be a challenge to photograph without a point of interest like a boat. Without boats on the water, the image just looks like a sea of blue with mountains on the horizon. Crossing back to my hire car on the other side of Lake Terrace I spotted this couple on a beach. In my opinion, they add a much needed point of interest to the photograph. The mountains are Mount Tongariro and Ngauruhoe of the Tongariro National Park, over 20 miles away.
