One of the world’s most famous ancient buildings is the Colosseum. Built around the year 75 AD it is widely considered the greatest work of Roman architecture and engineering. This photograph was taken one evening in January stood above the main entrance to Rome’s Colosseo metro station. As you can see from here we get a great view of the amphitheatre with the Piazza del Colosseo road in the foreground. The white and red lines on the road are from the busy rush hour traffic. The glass windows of the coaches and buses have caused strange ghostly reflections. This is my favourite of the photographs I have taken in Rome.
