Here is an example to anyone who has an interest in the technical side of photography about what can and does go wrong with digital. I have tried to correct the blue halo issue as best I can using Lightroom and Photoshop, but you can still see it on the tops of the buildings. This is mainly because I had the compact camera set on jpeg rather than raw files. This removes a large amount of the original files information and lowers the quality of the final image. A lesson learned. Every cloud has a silver lining and in this case it just means I am going to have to revisit New York and in particular Central Park as soon as finances allow.
