Up the hill from Keswick in the Lake District is Castlerig Stone Circle. It is one of the most visited stone circles in Cumbria. I put this down to the location. It is surrounded by the picturesque landscape of the Lake District National Park. Castlerig was built as part of a megalithic tradition that lasted from around 3200BC to 2500BC. The circle itself is about 30 metres across with 38 stones still there. I’m not certain which direction I was facing when I captured this photograph so can’t tell you what the mountains are in the distance. Maybe someone can tell us in the comments? I’d photographed this stone circle back in 2008 with a couple of photographer friends from Sale Photographic Society. It is wonderful to be able to look back at how my style of photography and editing has changed (dare I say improved) over the last 16 years.
