Caledonian Hotel at Dusk

The Caledonian Hotel was built above the main entrance of the Princes Street station in Edinburgh and opened in 1903. The station was closed in 1948 after the nationalisation of the railways, but thankfully the hotel still remains. It was nearly a year ago that the above image was taken on my first evening in the city after a day’s drive up north. It was one of the last photographs I took before having to get my tripod out as the light levels dropped.
