Brunner Mine Bridge

The Brunner Mine was a coal mine, today much of the site closed to mining but open to tourists. The pictured bridge took both miners and coal over the Grey River. In 1896 an explosion in the mine killed 65 miners so much of what remains visible today is a memorial to those who died. This bridge and the mine are about five miles east of the west coast town of Greymouth along Highway 7 in the south island of New Zealand.
