When driving up to photograph the Malcom Wilson Rally in March 2011, I knew from previous years that the best place for me to park (providing I arrived early enough in the morning) was on the Whinlatter Pass just west of Brow’s Wood. It might be a 20 minute walk up to the stage but it saves parking on the road or paying the five pounds car park fees. When we arrived it was dark, but coming back to the car we were greeted with the above view north looking over the valley to Ladstock Wood and Thornthwaite, on to Bassenthwaite Lake in the distance.
