Although there are two hills (which in this part of the world means dormant or extinct volcanos) near Devonport the larger and closer one is Mount Victoria. A twenty minute walk from the ferry and you get this fantastic view looking across Waitemata Harbour to the port and central business district in the background. From here you get the perfect view of the Auckland city skyline which I hope to return one evening to get some night photographs (wind permitting) of the skyline.
