Archway styled like a Waharoa Gateway

Staying for a few nights in the Catlins Forest Park I knew I had to go and see Curio Bay. If you drive through the Curio Bay Camping Ground the road takes you up to The Headland. Whilst the weather was cloudy that day but it was still an epic view across Porpoise Bay. It was also a lovely surprise to come across the archway. There is a collection of 10 archways around the Southland to encourage people to explore the stars. Specifically the stars of Matariki. This archway, styled like a Waharoa Gateway represents the star Waitā. It was made by artist Steve Solmon.
