Via di Santa maria Maggiore, Rome

Looking up Via di Santa Maria Maggiore I noticed this large, ornate building at the top of the hill. I had only landed in Italy a couple of hours earlier and this was one of my first photographs of the week after dropping the bags of at our nearby hotel. Although I mainly focused on the key tourist sights and getting photographs of them, this photograph shows what the majority of streets in Rome look like, although many are longer, some narrower and most have more traffic.
