Edinburgh's Big Wheel at Night

Opposite the prestigious department store Jenners is this Ferris Wheel in Princes Gardens. As this photo is taken at night you can’t see the Scott Monument behind the wheel, but I wanted to capture the interesting light display as it moved slowly around. Obviously this is a nice long exposure of five seconds, which makes the wheel appear as if it is whizzing round at a great speed. I think the blue of the Christmas lights on the left side of the image work well in contrast to the sharp lines of light. This was taken with the camera on a tripod at a very acute angle in order for me to frame the wheel and tree as I wished.
