New Brighton Lighthouse at Night

Ever since I started taking photographs at night with my camera on a tripod a couple of years ago, I have wanted to get a nice long exposure of the sea moving at night. Having studied other photographs with this blurred water effect, this was the first time I got to try this technique properly. The lighthouse is lovely and sharp, but the moving water is nice and soft. There was a lot of orange light pollution coming from Merseyside behind me, which caused the white lighthouse to appear to have a pink / orange colour. However I think this looks very effective.
