Newcastle Quayside Globe

Wandering around Newcastle city centre before getting our train back to Manchester I noticed this interesting looking gold globe on the Newcastle side of the River Tyne. It was one of the half dozen photographs I took that day, but I was playing with the Canon Powershot G10 camera. This was Mark’s new compact and I was obviously using it in Raw mode to make full use of the images when I got them into Lightroom. We looked around here for five minutes trying to find some information about what it was, but there was nothing to find.
