Puffin in Flight with Sandeels

I have talked about how impossible these tiny creatures are to photograph when I last visited the Farne Islands in June 2007. Last week I was back and this was one of my sharpest images of the bird in flight. However, it isn’t as good as it looks because it was so small in the frame I have had to crop almost 90% of the original image away. However the fact that it is sharp shows my development in the last two years. These birds are only a foot long and beat there wings around 400 times a minute. This was taken with a 200mm lens (hence the huge crop).
