Portrait of Lucy with Long Lens

Lucy is one of the girls Josh had model his t-shirts for a recent fashion photographic shoot in the studio. She was a good model because she was enjoying messing about with the old cameras I had as props. Getting models to relax in front of the camera makes for better images at the end of the day. Here Lucy was laughing at Josh joking around next to me. Caught at the right moment it makes for a great portrait in my opinion. That said, there are problems with the above photograph if I can get technical for a second. I was there to photograph Josh’s hand made t-shirts; you can’t see the t-shirt very well because the arm is blocking the view. She should have been pointing to the right, not the left so that her left arm was behind the right. Finally, it would have been even better if she had just glanced at my camera when this frame was captured, giving a “catch light” in her eyes. All that being said, I am still happy with the final image here.
