Spacecadets Artwork – The Lowry at Night

Artists Spacecadets have been commissioned to create new artwork to bring alive our foyer spaces of the Lowry theatre and gallery complex. The result is an installation of giant inflatable plants and flowers which you can see through the windows in the above photograph, creating a stunning display of oversized exotic plant life.
It seems that each time I have been to Salford Quays recently there is something different going on, be it at the War Museum or the Lowry. This time it was these strange inflatable planets, last time Marie Curie Cancer Care event featuring a sponsored zip wire across the ship canal.
The camera was on a tripod to capture this image with a ten second exposure. I feel that it benefits from being taken at night because of the way the aerofoil canopy at the entrance glows purple and blue.
