Elephant Family at Chester Zoo

It has been another mad week here in Manchester. The above photograph was taken 7 days ago on a trip to Chester Zoo. I wasn’t able to post this photo due to the Apple event in the evening, then being in Lincolnshire at the weekend and posting photographs over Halloween it has been really intense. It was my first visit to Chester Zoo with my digital SLR camera and although I was able to capture better images because of the fast burst mode, the zoom still isn’t really good enough to get really close to many animals. However, I am very please with the above photograph showing the four members of Chester’s elephant family, with the huge male elephant on the far left, the two small babies and mother in the middle. I remember visiting the zoo two years ago and watching the large baby rolling around in the mud with its mother.
