Osteospermum 'Pink Edge' Flower at Threave Gardens

After staying the night just outside of Dumfries, we set out this morning for Threave Gardens. I had never heard of it before now, but knew I would be in for some interesting flower photography. I was really surprised at the colours and numbers of flowers out at the moment. The weather wasn’t perfect for flower photography and I don’t have a Macro lens on my camera, but I did my best. I want to put more flower and plant pictures on the website in future, as it is a type of photography that I haven’t explored in depth. The above image is the flower head of an Osteospermum. I know very little about plants and searching the internet found almost no information about this flower. If you have any information please comment below. I really love the shape and colour, so thought it would be worth sharing. This afternoon I went on to Grey Mare’s Tail – a waterfall just north of Moffat. I am now back home in Manchester for 24 hours before my next adventure, more on that soon…
